We are looking forward to June and the release of Marge Agin's third photography book, What It Means to Be Here: Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, The Lowcountry and Beyond. Her photographs artfully capture the feel of the Lowcountry. The 152-page, hardbound book features 207 original photographs that will resonate with you. Bluffton Mayor Lisa Sulka and Courtney Hampson, Director of Marketing, Palmetto Bluff contributed essays to the book.
A unique feature of this book is the cutting-edge image recognition technology used to bring the images to life. When a smartphone loaded with the free app is opened and focused on one of the select photographs in the book, aerial video begins to play. It really allows the reader a bird's eye view of the Lowcountry like never before!
Palmetto Bluff was, of course, the perfect venue for the book’s launch party! The event will be held on June 18th from 5:30-8 p.m. Marge will be signing books and the proceeds from the sale of the books will benefit the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy. Cocktails and appetizers will be served; both of which will be inspired by the beautiful photographs in the book. Everyone is invited but due to space constraints, reservations are required. It is booking up quickly so email champson@crescentcommunities.com as soon as possible if you would like attend.
If you know you won't be able to attend and would still like Marge to autograph your copy, you may pre-order a copy. All pre-orders will be autographed by Marge and shipped in mid-June.
We hope to see you on June 18th!
