Foreword by Doug Gardner, PBS Television, Wild Photo Adventures.
"In this book you will see the beauty of the natural world in a new way. To say the photos are impressive would be an understatement, but the book is more than just photographs. Beholding Nature is an important educational book in terms of exposing the best of the Lowcountry and Southeast." - Doug Gardner, PBS Television, Wild Photo Adventures
See how photographer Eric Horan captures the images inside his new book, Beholding Nature.
Eric Horan is a global environmental and commercial photographer and certified master naturalist based in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. His lifelong passion photographing the natural beauty of the outdoors around the world has provided an impressive portfolio.
Over the years, Horan has shot assignments for major magazines and corporations along with receiving notable awards. His work has been published in Smithsonian, OUTSIDE, The New York Times Sunday Travel, Business Week, Fortune, Time, Fodor’s and National Geographic books. He has also won the prestigious Carnegie Museum competition.
His pictures have a lyrical quality and speak to the viewer. Observations of one who is deeply in tune with his natural subject. “If not,” he says, “then the image does not make the cut. If a picture works on me, then I’m betting it will for others.”
Eric has traveled the United States and abroad including Africa, Central Europe, Central America and the Caribbean Islands. He is a frequent guest with producer/photographer Doug Gardner on Wild Photo Adventures on PBS television.
Eric and his wife Jan run Lowcountry Photo Safaris, taking all levels of photographers by sea and land to natural habitats, rookeries and scenic destinations capturing images of dolphin, osprey, bald eagles, brown pelican, herons and many more resident and visiting wildlife that have taken respite along the coastal waterways.
His first book Carolina Nature, A Photographer’s View of the Carolinas is now sold out.
