The beauty and grandeur of America’s Southern Appalachian Mountains

Perfectly crafted billions of years ago, the oldest mountain range, the Southern Appalachian Mountains have many gifts—pristine waterfalls, rich wildlife, old forests and characteristic blue mist that adorns its famous ranges—the Blue Ridge Mountains and Great Smoky Mountains. Cherokee called the Smokies “Shaconage” (Sha-Kon-O-Hey), “land of the blue smoke.”

Not only a stunning photography book, the informative text highlights the area, nature, arts and culture for visitors and locals alike. Mountain Blue also contains mountain recipes, camera equipment recommendations and Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost numbers with detailed captions so you can visit the photographer’s locations. When you open the pages of Mountain Blue you will feel like you are there!
