With illustrations by artist Lucy McTier, this anticipated book is a feast for the eyes as well as the soul.

Jody-Bennett-ReichelJody Bennett Reichel has lived in the South and by the sea her whole life. She was born and raised in Jesup, Georgia, a small Southern town. After graduating from Ole Miss with a BA in Education, she taught school and coached tennis in Savannah, Georgia before moving to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Jody and her husband, Rob, have lived on Hilton Head for over thirty years where they raised their four children and are now proud grandparents lovingly known as “Jojo” and “Bobs”.

In addition to her love for writing, her family, the beach, and all things Southern, Jody enjoys gardening, tennis, biking, ministering to those in need and opening her home to share southern hospitality and her homemade pralines. She loves to spend time on her porch, writing, praying and studying God’s Word. Through the years Jody has volunteered at nursing homes, Special Olympics, Wheelchair Tennis, and FCA’s Week of Champions. She has taught Sunday school, led Bible studies and remains active in various ministries at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church. Jody’s inspirational writings have been nationally published with Dear Cards.

A portraitist since 1979, one of the many highlights of Lucy McTier's career in art was her opportunity to paint President Ronald Reagan and present him with his portrait in the Oval Office of the White House along with her then five-year-old son, Jace, and her husband, David, in 1985. Lucy has work hanging in over 350 public and private collections, and in several gallery locations. Her work is primarily in oil on linen, but she offers prints of her work as well. Her wildlife print series features baby loggerhead turtles and other wildlife in limited edition Cibachrome or digital reproductions.
